Overview
Loafyn (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a personal bread baking journal for iOS. We designed Loafyn to keep your baking data on your device. Loafyn does not require an account, and we do not operate a Loafyn cloud service that stores your recipes or bake logs.
Information stored on your device
When you use Loafyn, the app stores the following locally on your iPhone or iPad:
- Bread formulas, ingredients, and notes
- Bake logs, ratings, tags, dates, and linked formula data
- Photos you attach to formulas or bake logs
- Voice tasting notes you record for bake logs
- Starter cultures, feed history, and activity notes
- Pantry inventory and low-stock settings
- Bake plans and scheduled reminder preferences
- Timer sessions and stage settings
- App preferences such as display options and custom texture tags
- Your in-app coin balance and records of settled coin purchases
This information remains on your device unless you delete it in the app, remove the app, or export/share content yourself (for example, exporting a PDF or saving an image to Photos).
Information we do not collect
- We do not require you to create a Loafyn account.
- We do not receive your formulas, bake logs, photos, or voice notes on our servers.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use third-party advertising networks inside the app.
Device permissions
Loafyn may request the following permissions. You can deny any optional permission and still use most app features.
- Camera — to take photos for formula covers and bake logs.
- Photo Library — to choose existing images and to save exported recipe cards or share images when you request an export.
- Microphone — to record optional voice tasting notes in bake logs.
- Notifications — to deliver local reminders for starter feeds, ferment steps, bake plans, and multi-stage bake timers. Notifications are scheduled on your device; we do not send push messages from a remote server.
- App Tracking Transparency — on supported devices, iOS may ask whether you allow tracking across apps and websites owned by other companies. Loafyn works fully if you decline.
In-app purchases
Loafyn offers consumable in-app purchases of in-app coins through Apple’s App Store. Payment is processed by Apple, not by Loafyn directly. We do not receive your payment card details.
Coins are consumed when you spend them inside the app (for example, exporting a PDF or expanding formula slots). Because coin packs are consumable products, they are used after purchase and are not kept as restorable entitlements.
Purchase history and billing support are handled by Apple. For billing questions, use your Apple ID purchase history or contact Apple Support.
Data retention and deletion
Your baking data stays on your device until you delete it. You can remove individual items inside the app or use Clear All Data in the Me tab to reset local app data.
Uninstalling Loafyn removes locally stored app data from your device, subject to iOS system behavior and any device backups you maintain.
Children’s privacy
Loafyn is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app in error, contact us and we will help you understand how to remove local data from the device.
International users
Loafyn is operated for users worldwide. Because your baking content is stored locally on your device, it generally does not leave your device unless you export or share it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
